Kerry Johnstone

Kerry moved to Devon 5 years ago and after a phase of combining her London-based civil service career with pursuing painting, decided to move full time into painting just as lockdown hit. She is now fully immersed in Devon – this is reflected in her paintings of Dartmoor and the Jurassic Coastline, and the gentle rolling countryside on her doorstep near Honiton. She has a mild obsession with rocks, both from afar and close up, inland and on the coast and enjoys reflecting the different textures and colours and the interesting shapes made by rocks sometimes holding each other up precariously. She also loves to paint trees in all their glory, and plans over the winter to work on still life subjects, exploring different media.
